Skills Testing for Scaffolders

Over the years scaffolding has been classed as semiskilled and little investment has been made for semiskilled workers. Scaffolding has been one of those areas that has not been recognized as a trade.

The leaders in the market are CITB Construction Industry Training Board. Many scaffolders do not get the opportunity to attend the 2-week courses due to costs or time away from the work place but they are experienced and have been doing the job in some cases for 10’s of years.

In order to qualify for CITB CISRS Cards your scaffolders have to have a level of experience? But how do they get that experience to meet the basic requirements. Over the years NVQ & SVQ have offered scaffolding qualifications at the same levels as CITB but this still does not get them that CSCS card? that some organisations demand?

As responsible employers your duty of care to provide training to your own staff and to have a suitably trained and competent staff who have the level of experience with a level of competency by contracting with Health and Safety Services we can bridge that gap. Our trainers are all Advanced Scaffolders with 20 to 40 years’ experience,

Health and Safety Services can offer your company a fully experienced Scaffolding Trainer to carry out skills testing. Why should you skills test? By skills testing your staff you can identify those who will become team leaders, develop your training needs or new staff and meeting the level of competency to take the CITB CISRS Card Training.
